PERAN GURU DALAM MENGOPTIMALKAN KEDISIPLINAN ANAK USIA 4-5 TAHUN

Abstract

Child discipline must be started as early as possible because children couldn't understand about self-discipline without guidance from their mentors or teachers at school. This survey aims to find out about the role of teachers in optimizing their discipline strategies for the 4-5 year old children at TK Islam Tirtayasa Kota Serang Banten. The survey method uses the qualitative method for the 4-5 year old children in A2 Team with 13 members, 5 boys and 8 girls inside. The procedure of data collection is performed by observation result, field data collection, the interview, and documentation process. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. From the survey results show that the 4-5 year old children in A2 Team at TK Islam Tirtayasa already have positive behavior. It's proved by how they come to school on time, come to school every week day, wear the daily uniforms which are already chosen for them, make a proper queue before getting into the class, pray before and after class, put their shoes and bag onto the right place, tidy up the toys they've used, and put the trash in the bin. Therefore, maintaining classroom discipline is started from the teachers giving the example to the children from the time class starts until the class ends. For the teachers who should optimize their discipline strategies, they have a role to be an inspirator and a motivator to help the children having good behavior on their daily basis.
