MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PERMULAAN ANAK KELOMPOK B MELALUI MEDIA AUDIO VISUAL

Abstract

Early reading ability on grup B in TK Terpadu Santosa Cilegon is still low. It’s related with methods and learning media are less interesting and varied. The use of audio visual media is expected to improve reading ability on group B. This study aims to (1) find out the process of applying audio visual media within improving early reading ability of children group B in TK Terpadu Santosa Cilegon-Banten and to (2) know the improvement early reading ability of children group B in TK Terpadu Santosa Cilegon-Banten through audio visual media. The method used in this research is action research, consists of 2 cycles, cycle I as much as 8 times action and cycle II as much as 4 times action. The subjects of the study were children of group B in TK Terpadu Santosa Cilegon-Banten with a total of 12 children aged 5-6 years, consisting of 5 boys and 7 girls. Techniques of data collection in this study are observation, field notes, interview notes and documentation. Technique of data analysis is done by descriptively qualitative and quantitative. The success criterion of action in this research is if the average score of the class in early reading ability reaches 60%. The results showed that: (1) the process implementation of audio visual media includes 3 stage. The stages are, the preparatory stage, implementation stage, and evaluation stages; (2) at result of the first cycle more increased than pre action was 26% to 36%, and in second cycle increased to 67%. Based on the results obtained data it can be concluded that with the application of audio visual media can improve early reading ability of children in group B at TK Terpadu Santosa, Cilegon-Banten.
